Welcome to Durham City District CVS

Durham City District CVS exists to assist and promote voluntary and community sector activities in the Durham City District of County Durham.

The work of Durham City District CVS is best described under the following headings, which form the core activities of a Council for Voluntary Service:

• Providing services and support for other voluntary and community organisations.

• Creating and promoting forums and networks through which other organisations and communities may make representations.

• The provision of opportunities for closer working together within the voluntary and community sector and statutory authorities and to encourage cross-sector cooperation.

• Encouraging and promoting effective involvement of the local voluntary and community sectors in strategic partnerships.

• The encouragement of new ideas, strategies and organisations.
